The Abandoned Dorset Village of Tyneham

  • January 17, 2019

We have visited Tyneham Village near Lulworth in Dorset a couple of time but I’m aware that not many people have heard of it. It has a really interesting story, so if you’re in the area (or even if you’re local) and are looking for things to do in Dorset, it’s definitely somewhere to add to your must-visit list. Take a look at our photos and find out a bit >>

branksome beach

We count ourselves very lucky to live in what we consider to be the best parts of the UK – it must be since a lot of people choose to come to Bournemouth and Poole on family holidays. Having lived here for almost 40 years (eek!) my husband and I know the area really well and definitely have our favourite beaches. We do tend to go to the beach more in >>

10 Fun Things To Do In Poole and Bournemouth With Kids

  • March 26, 2018
Bournemouth Pier

We count ourselves very lucky to live in Poole in Dorset – I definitely wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in the UK. We have beautiful beaches as well as countryside to explore, and there are tons of things to do in Poole and Bournemouth with kids. Bournemouth was once laughed at for being a retirement town – though recently is more famous for stag & hen parties – and Poole >>

Our Favourite National Trust Days Out in Dorset, Hampshire & Wiltshire

  • February 19, 2018

Last summer we got our first National Trust membership and have definitely got our money’s worth. We worked out that after 3 trips our family of 3 would be getting free visits on the annual membership of £115. This post isn’t in conjunction with National Trust at all, we’ve just been to some really great places and think the membership is such good value for families that I wanted to >>

A National Trust Christmas at Kingston Lacy

  • December 21, 2017

We’re well and truly in the Christmas spirit here and have been on some fab Christmas outings. Last weekend we went to National Trust’s Kingston Lacy in Wimborne, Dorset to see the illuminated gardens. We have a National Trust family pass (which I can’t recommend highly enough!) and their seasonal events are always really good. Here are some of our photos… First, we went into the house which you have to pre-book your >>

Mighty Claws Adventure Golf Bournemouth

  • May 29, 2017

Last weekend we were invited to the opening of a new dinosaur adventure golf course in Bournemouth – Mighty Claws Adventure Golf. After a week of amazing weather, it was predictably grey and cold on Saturday morning. Nevertheless, we braved the drizzle to go and play golf. Luckily the rain stopped as we arrived and it did try to brighten up a little bit. Mighty Claws is about 10 minutes >>

A Walk Through Bluebell Woods

  • April 15, 2017

One of the great things about social media is seeing ideas and suggestions from other parents and local pages. Last week I saw a Facebook post on the Dorset Mums page about Bluebell Woods in Wimborne and knew we had to visit! Bluebell Woods, Pamphill Wimborne is about 10 minutes from us but I’d never visited Bluebell Wood before. If you want to visit, it’s in Abbot Street Copse in >>

I hope the weather has been as nice where you are as it has been down on the south coast! We had 2 days of brilliant weather this weekend, and definitely made the most of it. We’re so lucky to live in an amazing part of the UK – Poole in Dorset. I see so many people posting about their holidays down here which reminds us how fortunate we are. >>

Saxon Square Shopping Centre, Christchurch

  • August 4, 2016

We’re lucky to have lots of lovely areas near us, and one of our favourites is Christchurch. Both sets of parents live there and we looked at moving there ourselves a couple of years ago, but unfortunately it was a little bit out of our price range! We do pop over there fairly often though for a walk, some lunch, and for Little H to play in the splash park in the >>
