Mighty Claws Adventure Golf Bournemouth

  • May 29, 2017

Last weekend we were invited to the opening of a new dinosaur adventure golf course in Bournemouth – Mighty Claws Adventure Golf. After a week of amazing weather, it was predictably grey and cold on Saturday morning. Nevertheless, we braved the drizzle to go and play golf. Luckily the rain stopped as we arrived and it did try to brighten up a little bit. Mighty Claws is about 10 minutes >>

A Walk Through Bluebell Woods

  • April 15, 2017

One of the great things about social media is seeing ideas and suggestions from other parents and local pages. Last week I saw a Facebook post on the Dorset Mums page about Bluebell Woods in Wimborne and knew we had to visit! Bluebell Woods, Pamphill Wimborne is about 10 minutes from us but I’d never visited Bluebell Wood before. If you want to visit, it’s in Abbot Street Copse in >>

A Sunny Day Out At Durdle Door

  • April 10, 2017

I hope the weather has been as nice where you are as it has been down on the south coast! We had 2 days of brilliant weather this weekend, and definitely made the most of it. We’re so lucky to live in an amazing part of the UK – Poole in Dorset. I see so many people posting about their holidays down here which reminds us how fortunate we are. >>

A Day Out At Cheddar Gorge

  • March 9, 2017

Last weekend we went on a little adventure to Cheddar Gorge. Both the husband and I had been when we were kids but we’d never taken Little H before. The weather forecast didn’t look good but we were determined to get out and about. Cheddar Gorge is just under 2 hours from where we live. It’s not that far distance wise but takes longer because of the windy country lanes and >>

Finding Gruffalos And Squelching In Mud

  • January 23, 2017

I don’t know about you, but it’s been a long time since the last payday and we’re a little bit broke! We’ve been trying to find things to do at the weekends that don’t cost an arm and a leg, so this weekend we drove out to the New Forest. The New Forest is massive (571 km² – I Googled it) and we’ve probably only explored a fraction of it. A resolution >>

  • January 15, 2017

I haven’t joined up with the #MySundayPhoto linky for a while so thought I would today. The photo I’m linking up with was taken yesterday afternoon at Upton Country Park in Poole. We had a day with no plans which is very rare. Like many people at this time of year we’re trying not to spend much money so decided just to get out in the fresh air and go >>

An Afternoon Picking Pumpkins At The Cat & Fiddle Farm In Christchurch

  • October 24, 2016

Picking pumpkins in the run up to Halloween has become a little bit of a tradition for us – this weekend we went for the third year in a row. I blogged last year about our little pumpkin picking adventure, and we went to the Cat & Fiddle Farm in Christchurch again this year. The farm has grown a bit in the last few years, and now has a shop serving >>

A Family Day Out At The Natural History Museum

  • October 9, 2016
natural history museum

It was my birthday earlier this week and I decided that I’d like to go to London for the day with my little family during the weekend before. I thought we’d let Little H choose what we did for the day and her choice was The Natural History Museum – a very good choice! We went to The Natural History Museum last summer and it was so ridiculously busy and >>
