Wow September just flew by didn’t it! I’m not sure if it was the busyness of back to school and the normal routine, but the month passed by before we knew it.
I can’t believe it’s already October and we’re in the last quarter of the year. I’m not particularly happy about it as I’m a summer girl, I hate the cold and the rain with a passion, so this time of year is not my favourite at all.
However, we will no doubt pack the month with lots of fun anyway and just keep my fingers crossed it’s relatively dry. We already have some exciting things planned that I look forward to telling you about next month.
First of all though, here’s a snapshot of what we did in September…
At the start of September, we went to the circus for the first time. Little H has been obsessed with The Greatest Showman (like most kids!) and was dying to go when we saw the posters.
It was great fun, much longer than I thought it would be, and Little H was gripped the whole time. Some of the stunts had us covering our eyes they were so daring, our favourites were the tightrope walkers.
Petlake Alpacas of the New Forest
Another obsession of Little H’s lately has been alpacas and llamas, we have all sorts of things covered in pictures of the fluffy creatures!
When we found out that there was an alpaca farm in the New Forest we were very excited and headed straight down there.
How cute are these little guys?!
Read more about the farm and our visit here.
Having a 7-year-old is a lot of fun. It’s also much easier than having a baby that cries all the time or a toddler that you have to chase around constantly.
Little H loves to ride her bike and is happy to just ride around for hours by herself. Our local park has a running track that’s perfect for your kids to ride their bikes around in laps while you site peacefully on a bench and watch. I’m loving the independence of 7-year-olds!
A couple of weekends ago I had a rare Saturday night out and went to see Kylie Minogue perform in Bournemouth.
I’ve been a big fan since she was in Neighbours *cough*30 years*cough* and have seen her many times before. This time she performed in my hometown which was amazing.
The concert was great and as Bournemouth is such a small venue we were very close to the stage.
If you get the chance to go and see her in concert you definitely should!
Longleat Safari Park
This weekend we visited Longleat, we went last Christmas Eve and were looking forward to going back while it was a bit warmer and getting the chance to see everything we missed last time.
When we first arrived we just happened to walk past the giraffes at feeding time. Giraffes are my favourite animals so I was very pleased to be able to feed them myself – as you can see from my giraffe selfie!
We also went on a boat trip to see the gorillas, fed sea lions and had monkeys climbing all over our car. Little H loved the meerkats as you could get so close to them.
If you haven’t been to Longleat before it’s definitely worth a visit. We used our Tesco Clubcard Vouchers to pay for our trip.
And just like that September was over!
What did you get up to last month? Are you looking forward to the last few months of the year?
Have a great October!
