I thought I’d start up my monthly round-up again to let you all know what we’ve been up to and give a little bit of insight into our lives.
August was busy as we were on holiday for the first part. As soon as we got back it was straight back to work and we’ve been juggling summer holiday childcare for the last couple of weeks.
I can’t believe the summer has ended – I’m not at all happy about this! We have some good memories though, here’s what we did in August…
Holiday
As soon as school finished for the summer holidays, we jetted off to Spain for a well deserved holiday. It was mega hot and we spent most of the time in the pool, at the beach and eating ice creams!
You can take a nose at more of our holiday photos here.
Fireworks
Since Little H was used to late nights after 2 weeks away, we went down to Bournemouth beach to watch the fireworks – something we’ve avoided before because they don’t start until 10pm.
We had a great view and Little H enjoyed being able to stay up late again!
Strawberry Picking
While the sun was shining we went strawberry picking, which we have kept talking about every summer for the last few years.
It was great fun and we got loads of yummy strawberries. Unfortunately, Little H got stung by a bee which ruined the day but luckily she got over the trauma quite quickly!
Reading Corner
We finished this cosy reading corner in Little H’s bedroom and she loves lying there reading which is great.
My mum made the cushion and pillows, the shelves are from Argos and the lights are from Primark.
Dinosaur Crazy Golf
Last night we went to Mighty Claws Adventure Golf in Bournemouth for a round of crazy golf and pizza.
We’ve been before (see my blog post from last year here) but it was cold and rainy then, so it was lovely to go again in the sunshine.
Little H won, although there may have been a bit of cheating!
And just like that August, and the summer, was over! Hopefully the Autumn will bring lots more fun, we have a few things planned which I look forward to telling you about nearer the time.
I hope you’ve had a fun packed August too – what have you been up to?
