5 Binge-worthy Shows To Watch On Netflix

I’ve recently been chatting to people about the best series to watch on Netflix, both online and in the office.

There’s been quite a few that I’ve started but haven’t managed to get past the first few episodes, even when they’re billed as the ‘best shows on Netflix’ and other people have been raving about them. There are others series, that I’ve been totally addicted to, and have raced through the whole series in a week or two.

If you’re wondering what to watch on Netflix, look no further. I thought I’d list my favourite binge-worthy shows to watch on Netflix in case you’re in need of a bit of inspiration…

The Sinner

Jessica Biel stars as a young mum who stabs a stranger to death on a family day out. A local detective tries to help her piece together memories to try and explain why she did what she did.

A bit weird in places but one you’ll want to keep watching to find out her motives. This series is one that kept us guessing until the end. We didn’t see the twist coming which makes a nice change.

We watched the whole series in a few days and would definitely recommend.

A crime drama following a couple of FBI agents who interview serial killers to try and understand their motives and set up serial killer profiling. Very creepy because it’s based on real serial killers, but you’ll want to keep watching to learn more about them.

The only bad part is that there’s only one series and ends without wrapping up the story but there is apparently another series coming soon.

How to get away with murder

I watched this on a recommendation from a much younger colleague and nearly stopped watching after the first couple of episodes as I thought it was another rubbish teen drama. I’m glad I persevered as I got a bit addicted!

A group of law students get involved in a murder and the series follows them and their law professor trying to piece together what happened and how to get away with it.

Completely far-fetched but still binge-worthy. I watched 3 series in two weeks and am waiting for the last series to make its way to Netflix!

Stranger Things

This is not my usual kind of show, I don’t like sci-fi or anything remotely scary in so wasn’t really convinced at the beginning. However, I loved all the 80s references so stuck with it and was surprised that I really enjoyed it.

It is quite weird, and some bits can get confusing, but very addictive and with two series to watch it’s worth catching up on if you haven’t seen it.

Gilmore Girls

If you’ve never seen Gilmore Girls, please watch it! I used to watch it in bed on Sunday mornings when I was at Uni but never saw the last couple of series so was really pleased when it popped up on Netflix.

It’s easy to watch but also addictive as you’ll get to love the characters and want to see how mother & daughter team Lorelai and Rory end up.

It’s very dated now but you’ll get nostalgic over some of the references, and if you grew up in the late 90s or early 00s you’ll probably laugh at some of the teen angst.

Have you seen any of these TV shows already? If so, which are your favourites? If you haven’t seen any of them, which do you think will become your next obsession?!

Don’t forget Parenthood! I love the Bravermans!

    • Sarah | Digital Motherhood

I haven’t seen that, will have to take a look!

      • mommyhomemanager

YES! If you love Gilmore Girls, you will love Parenthood. It’s along the same lines… real-world situations, lovable characters, and family comedy.

  • Liberty on the Lighter Side - (LoLS)

We are always on the lookout for good recommendations. I tried the Gilmore Girls but something about it annoyed me! My teens are hooked on Stranger Things but I got creeped out 😀 We love crime series though so might give those others a try. We are currenty watching a comedy spy series set in 1960’s France which we are loving called A Very Secret Service. #kcacols

  • Virtually All Sorts (@AllSortsHere)

I rarely watch TV to be fair, probably because I don’t want to get caught up in a series. I’ve heard about The Gilmore Girls though! #kcacols

  • Madeline (This Glorious Life)

I loved Stranger Things and have watched Gilmore Girls more times than I should really admit, but I’ve never seen any of the others on this list. I’ll have to go and check them out, especially ‘The Sinner’, it sounds really good! x #KCACOLS

  • Mom Of Two Little Girls

Thanks for sharing this list. I haven’t seen any of them. Of those, the one that keeps coming up for me is How To Get Away With Murder. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time.

I loved strangers things. Making a murderer was really good as was evil genius, great if you like real life crime stories.

  • Shan Ellis

Stranger Things – oh I binge watched that in a few days when season 2 came out! I’m bit addicted to YouTube (for research purposes!) at the moment and Netflix has become a second class citizen until winter! I loved 13 Reasons why too. Can’t get into the Gilmore girls I did try 🙁 #KCACOLS

  • Gorgeousgsmama

Wow! I thought I was gonna be like…”Seen it!” But I’ve only seen stranger things. Although the rest seem a bit dark for my liking. I might try Sinner. I’ve heard great things about Gilmore Girls but don’t think it’s really my thing.

  • Mummy & the Mexicans (@ruthhilbrown)

I used to watch Gilmore Girls many years ago and recently watched the four-episode update catching up with them all these years later. I definitely recommend that if you enjoyed the original series. I’ve been watching 13 reasons why – when I can – and have really got into that. Thanks for linking up with #kcacols!
