5 Side-Hustles To Make A Bit Of Extra Cash

Whether you work full-time, part-time or stay at home, you’ll no doubt need more money because let’s face it, kids are expensive.

There are various things you can try to earn some extra money but I’d recommend staying away from anything that involves MLM pyramid schemes or commission only sales.

I’ve tried a few things so have put together a list of 5 5 side-hustles to make a bit of extra cash…

Disclosure: some of these links are affiliate links which means I may receive a small commision at no cost to you if you click through and make a purchase.

The obvious one to start with is blogging as I do make some money from this blog, however, it’s not easy money by any means.

You can make money from your blog by writing sponsored posts, reviewing products and displaying adverts on your site.

This isn’t a quick way to earn cash though as you have to establish your blog before you can monetise. I’d only recommend this money-making idea if you love to blog as there is a hell of a lot of work involved.

Freelance work

If you have a skill such as writing, social media or design, you can earn quite a lot of extra money from taking on some freelance clients. Check out this blog post on 6 ideas for jobs you can do from home which should give you some freelance ideas.

Good sites to find freelance work on are People Per Hour (the one I use) and Upwork.

I haven’t tried this myself, but I have heard a lot of people speak about how much money they have made from taking online surveys. You usually get paid per survey and many or as few as you need to.

You have to take a lot of surveys to earn a large amount but this is something you can fit around kids and do from the comfort of your own sofa. A popular survey site is Swagbucks which pays up to £35 per survey.

Sell on Etsy

If you’re creative you could design and sell your crafts on Etsy. If you don’t make physical products how about selling digital products – you could design posters or stickers that customers can download after purchase.

Website testing

Getting paid to test websites sounds like a pretty good way to earn money. I’ve recently signed up to UserTesting but haven’t started yet so I can’t say it definitely works but it looks good. You watch videos, test websites and earn money, worth a try!

These are just 6 suggestions you could try, there are lots more things you could try and this blog post has some more great suggestions.

Have you tried any of these side-hustles? Let me know if you have any other suggestions to make some quick money!
