Wolves, Books and Make-Up – January’s #LittleLoves

  • January 26, 2018

Last year I did a monthly round-up of what we’d been up to each month but this year I thought I’d do something a bit different. I’m joining the #LittleLoves linky every month to let you know what we’ve been doing.

It’s been a bit of a quiet start to the year as the husband has had pneumonia which has kept us all indoors! Luckily he’s on the mend now so February should be back to normal.

So here’s January’s #LittleLoves…

I got a Kindle for my birthday last year and since then have got back into reading again. This month I read Little Black Lies which I really enjoyed. I won’t give anything away but it’s a thriller set in The Falklands and didn’t see the ending coming which makes a nice change!

Little H has been reading The Worst Witch, I used to love this series when I was younger! She’s finished the first book and is waiting for the second one to arrive. If you have kids who like the Harry Potter movies but are still a little bit young for the books then this series is a great alternative.

I’m always behind with series and am a bit late to the party with this one but I’ve just finished bingeing the first series of How to Get Away With Murder. on Netflix. I wasn’t sure at the start but a colleague persuaded me to carry on and I have to admit I got a bit hooked at the end! Not all the questions are answered in the first season so I definitely need to make a start on the second.

Little H gets “Home Learning” every half term which is something you have to make at home. It’s homework for the parents though because there’s no way the kids make this stuff, some of the parents go totally OTT as you can probably imagine! This term’s project was to make a wolf mask for their “Big Bad Wolf” storytelling topic.  I headed to Pinterest and we managed this mask out of felt with a bit of help from Nanny, which we then stuck to a mask bought from eBay.

We haven’t done much in January due to illness so my wardrobe has pretty much consisted of boring work clothes or PJs! I did, however, buy this beautiful eyeshadow palette from Barry M and have been wearing the sparkly shades to work!

I hardly ever get time to listen to music, I always have the radio on in the car on the way to work but still don’t really have a clue at what’s in the charts. Yes, I’m officially old!

Little H told me the other day that she loves Imagine Dragons and we’ve had to listen to their songs on repeat for the last few weeks. She constantly asks Alexa to play their songs, especially Thunder which I’ve linked to below if you also have no idea who they are!

And Lastly…

I’ve just started “The Fundamentals of Photography” an online course with Creative Live which I hope will teach me how to take my DSLR off automatic mode! With a bit of luck, I’ll be able to share some photos with you soon…

Hope you had a great January too!

Oh glittery makeup looks fab. I need to have a whole makeup and skincare overhaul but I don’t know where to start. Things irritate my eyes alot so I am always scared to try new stuff but love all the sparkles. Hope you have a great weekend ahead. #littleloves

I love the look of that eyeshadow palette. I’ll be on the look out for it next time I’m in Boots. Have a great week x
