I’m a bit late with my round-up for last month as we’ve just got back from holiday. I couldn’t really remember what we did before we jetted off, so it’s nice to have a little reminder.
July started off by us getting our first National Trust passes – how grown up are we?! Our first visit was to Mottisfont Abbey in Romsey, a place we’d never heard of before. It was a really grey day out, such a good place to explore. If you’re nearby and have the chance to visit then you definitely should.
July obviously means the end of the school year, and with that comes end of year plays, assemblies and of course sports day. We managed to dodge the rain with Little H’s sports day and had a good morning followed by a “family picnic”. We learnt that Little H isn’t competitive in the slightest and is definitely off in her own little world. Her favourite race was definitely the space hopper race!
We had some lovely weather before school finished, though it seems a distant memory now! We had some great time in the sun, visiting the beach after school and the New Forest at the weekend. If only the sun could come back again for the rest of the school hols!
We went on another visit to a National Trust property, this time heading to Kingston Lacy which is only about 10 minutes from us. We’ve been before but not since Little H was around 2. It’s another great day out with a house and lots of grounds to explore. We will definitely head back soon to finish exploring.
Then just like that school was over and we jetted off on a plane to Gran Canaria for some much-needed sun! We had an amazing 2 weeks which I’ll be blogging about shortly. For now here are a couple of pics of what we got up to in the last week of July. To see a few more you can follow me on Instagram.
I hope you had a good July and managed to make the most of that little bit of summer we had! I look forward to telling you all about our August in a few weeks time.
