Our April Round-Up

  • May 1, 2017

Another month has flown by and it’s time to have a look back at what we got up to. It’s been another busy month and we’ve been quite lucky with the weather letting us have some nice afternoons out. We’ve been trying not to spend much money and have done well with days out that haven’t cost us much money.

At the start of April we went for a walk along the beach. It was a lovely sunny but a bit windy, and Little H had great fun practising her cartwheels on the sand.

We’ve been trying to teach Little H to ride the bike she got for Christmas but it hasn’t been going very well! We took her to the park to give it a go but she panicked every time she wobbled a bit. We tried again at home but she still hasn’t mastered the balancing bit. We’ll keep trying, I’m sure she’ll get the hang of it soon.

Over the Easter bank holiday weekend we had some amazing weather and headed to Durdle Door which is fairly close to where we live. We had a great day out and Little H really enjoyed exploring and collecting pebbles.

Also over the Easter long weekend we paid a visit to Bluebell Wood which I’d seen lots of people talking about on Facebook. It’s a beautiful place to go for a walk – and take photos!

This month Little H started a more advanced (and more expensive!) gymnastics class. She also got her number 5 badge which she was really pleased about. She’s been doing gymnastics for a year a now and can usually be found cartwheeling all over the place.

Towards the end of the month we were a bit poor after paying off the balance of our summer holiday so needed to think of a few free days out. We went for a walk along the river, collecting daisies and throwing stones in the water which passed a few hours.

We got to be toy testers this month and had great fun reviewing a science kit during the Easter holidays. It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours and get Little H away from screens and doing something useful.

On this last weekend of April we headed to Kimmeridge on the Jurassic Coast to do some fossil hunting. Little H has been asking to go for a while, we’ve just been waiting for a sunny day. We spent a few hours exploring and finding lots of fossils on the beach before walking along the cliff top and admiring the views.

We had a great April and it’s been so nice to have some sunny days to get out in. I’m definitely looking forward to some warmer weather heading our way.

Did you have a good April? Hope you had lots of fun whatever you got up to.

It sounds like a great month. It makes such a difference when there is some lovely weather, you can do a lot more for less when the sunshines
