We love reading and I’ve posted before about some of our favourite books. This week I’ve dug out a couple of Christmas books from last year and have also bought a couple of new ones.
Here’s what we’re reading this week…

Mog’s Christmas Calamity
This was last year’s favourite book, you probably remember the advert from Sainsburys where Mog destroys the kitchen. Little H finds the story funny and I have a soft spot for Mog as used to love the books when I was younger. Bother that cat!
Dear Father Christmas
This is a new one that I bought on a whim without even properly flicking through. It’s a lovely book and has letters between Santa and a little girl which you can take out of the envelopes to read. By fluke the little girl in the story has the same name as Little H so she loves it.
Santa’s Sleigh is on its Way to Bournemouth & Poole
There’s bound to be one of these for your area if you’re not in Poole or Bournemouth. Little H got really excited hearing the names of places she knows and recognising the pictures of Bournemouth pier and the town. It’s a great way to tell kids that Santa knows the place they live in.
The Night Before Christmas
To be fair this one is a bit hard for little ones to follow but it’s a bit of a tradition to read it on Christmas Eve and Little H loves the pictures if nothing else!
What are you reading in the run-up to Christmas? What are your favourite Christmas books?
Rebecca
can’t believe there are still Mog books around. I remember reading them when I was younger – classic x
