This is one of Little H’s favourites! It’s full of your usual Halloween characters like Dracula and Frankenstein but it’s more funny than scary with some catchy songs too. There’s also Hotel Transylvania 2 & 3 now if they enjoy watching this first one.
Casper The Friendly Ghost
I can’t believe this movie is over 20 years old! I can remember watching it with my young cousins when I was a teenager. As the title suggests Casper isn’t a scary ghost at all, and while the house is a little bit creepy looking the kids will just be focused on the cute ghost and funny pranks.
The Addams Family
Another 90s classic! Who else was as moody as Wendy Addams when they were a teen?! The characters all look creepy as does their house, but kids will find this funny rather than scary. They’re guaranteed to love the music too!
The Little Vampire
We only watched this film for the first time this week. A little boy moves from America to Scotland and makes friends with a family of Vampires who he has to help. Not scary at all – how can a film with this little boy be anything other than cute!
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Is it a Halloween film or is it a Christmas film? I think it’s a great film for either Halloween or Christmas! I thought this might be a bit scary for Little H but she loves “Pumpkin Jack” and this is her first choice to watch on Halloween. A good choice for parents too as it’s not too childish.
If you’ve got very young or easily scared kids you can’t go wrong with this Disney favourite as your family film for Halloween. Sully & Mike are funny, cute and loveable, but monsters can still be classed as Halloween favourites.
