Studying And Stationery

Does anyone else like studying, or is it just me?!

I’m not talking about studying for a PHD or anything, I definitely don’t have the brains for that, but shorter courses and qualifications.

I went to Uni and graduated (14 years ago as I scarily realised the other day!) with a degree in Graphic Design. I’d love to have the time and money to do another degree in something IT/Digital related but that’s never going to happen while I have to go to work. Luckily there are loads of short courses out there that benefit the industry that I work in.

A few months ago I completed a Diploma in Social Media Marketing. I did know a lot of the info from my job but the course was still interesting, worth doing and good for the old CV – or LinkedIn profile. I really enjoyed doing some studying again and so decided to do some more.

Does that make me a bit of a nerd?

I am starting a Diploma in Digital Marketing this week that my work have kindly offered to pay for, and I’m also working through my Hubspot Inbound Marketing Certification when I have an hour here and there to spare. As well as helping with my career I’m hoping that it will also help any future freelance plans!

In proper student style I went and bought lots of stationery! I probably spent far too long looking at notepads than a normal person would but I always think that pretty notepads and pens makes studying easier…even if a few pages in my writing becomes a bit unreadable.

And yes, I am aware of the irony of buying pens and paper for a digital course!

So now I have my stationery and I’m ready to learn. I’ve even decided what courses I’m going to do after these 2 – I’ve bought a Blogging & Content Creation course via Groupon and have my eyes on a Photography course too.

If you want to do a course I highly recommend looking on Groupon, there’s a lot of codes for massive discounts on online courses that normally cost £100’s.

I’ll let you all know how I get on!
