This weekend the weather was lovely, spring is definitely on it’s way!
Today was the warmest day of the year so far, the sun was shining and the sky was blue, so we headed down to Lulworth Cove.
Lulworth Cove is in one of the most beautiful areas in Dorset, on the Jurassic Coast about 20 miles outside of Poole. It’s a pebble beach so not the most comfortable to sit on, but it’s worth it to look at the clear, turquoise sea.
See, how beautiful is this?
Like I say about most of the places we go, it’s hard not to take a good photo in such a beautiful place. You might say it looks picture perfect – and if you look at the photo I posted on Instagram or Facebook with no captions, then yes it does look like a perfect day out.
However, I think it’s important to remember that our lives aren’t perfect just because we post lovely photos on social media, so here’s how the day actually went…
We got up earlier than usual and headed to Lulworth Cove. It should take us about 30 mins but actually took an hour because…
1) The husband took a wrong turning and we went the ‘scenic route’.
2) The MOD closed the road to Lulworth Cove on this route so we had to double back on ourselves and go a completely different way.
3) Pretty much as soon as we got down to the beach Little H started crying and saying she had earache so we spent a total of about 20 minutes on the beach before coming home again. We spent more time in the car than anything else.
So yes, the day wasn’t as perfect as the picture makes it look but luckily it’s not too far from us so we’ll just have to head over then again another weekend!
