Exploring our doorstep – Upton Country Park

  • February 7, 2016

After a windy, wet and miserable Saturday we were very pleased to wake up to blue skies this morning. We weren’t in the mood to venture too far today so we headed 5 minutes down the road to Upton Country Park. We go there a lot in the summer as they have loads of space for picnics plus a water fountain that all the kids love running through.

We haven’t been for a while though, and it’s a great place to go for a walk and blow the cobwebs away as there’s plenty of space to explore.

It was obviously very muddy but Little H was in her element squelching through the mud in her wellies, finding sticks and throwing stones into the stream.

There’s new picnic benches, masses of spaces for the kids to run around, and a bit of the stream is suitable for paddling so we’re definitely looking forward to going back when the weather is warmer.

There’s also great views over to Poole, and what walk in the countryside is complete without a muddy field full of cows!

Hope you have had some out door adventures this weekend!

We don’t get the sun for very long in our garden so can often be found lazing out the front of Upton house in the summer! 🙂

What a perfect place to have on your doorstep, especially at this time of year when we have sun one minute and rain the next, always easier to enjoy something local and not feel too cheated if the heavens open! Looks like you managed a good rain free outting. I bet it is beautiful there in summer too. Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

What a lot of mud! Sometimes you just have to get out there and enjoy the muddy fields. I tend to have a phobia of grassy floody mud after literally losing my shoe in the mud a few years ago on holiday in a muddy field! My son also lost his shoe in the mud that day but it hasn’t deterred him. popping by from #countrykids

Haha there was a lot of “careful you don’t get stuck!”. Personally I stayed away from the mud!

Omg, that’s like… super muddy! Not something I can identify with since I’m a city girl but the countryside is something we do yearn for when things get too crowded and hectic. #MyFavouriteTrip
