Summer is just around the corner, and it’s time to think about where we can jet off with the little ones. There are so many places to choose from it can be overwhelming, but that doesn’t mean you should give up searching! Here are some of my favourite destinations that will keep the little ones entertained, as well as keeping everyone safe.
The capital, Stockholm, is the only European city to make it into the top five of world’s safest cities. This country also has plenty of stunning views on offer to keep you and the entire family busy. We often take Europe for granted as we can’t wait to see the world – I know I am certainly guilty – but this country has so much on offer for everyone, including their many ferry lines to enjoy island hopping.
If your little ones fell in love with the wonder that is Pete’s Dragon, then this country is great as many of the scenes used New Zealand as the backdrop. The kids can even learn all about the history of Moana. What could be better than teaming family time and learning about the world? Stocking up on pre-downloaded movies as well as packing plenty of healthy snacks will also help the plane journey to fly by
Our trip to Florida a couple of years ago was an incredible experience, and Little H loved meeting all her favourite Disney characters. Now, you can enjoy all the fun of the sun, and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to enjoy a trip to the state. Disney prides itself on providing the magic to help you create all the lifelong memories. Plus, you can keep everyone safe. The parks are fully stocked with security guards meaning you can run around without any worries.
As far as Central American countries go, Belize takes home the title as being one of the safest. No longer do you have to worry about getting any malaria injections, or any other vaccines recommended before travel even when you’re pregnant, thanks to the fact the country is mainly disease free. Although always do double check with your GP first! If your family loves getting outside, then you will have plenty of options to get closer to nature thanks to the marine life on offer. Don’t forget to look up either; you might get to catch some cheeky monkeys playing in the trees.
If you’re looking for a safe holiday that has been sprinkled with a touch of magic, then look no further. The countryside is dotted with various fairytale castles that will offer plenty of places to explore for all the family. In addition to the magical architecture, the capital, Copenhagen, provides the chance to get closer to the fairytale master himself, Hans Christian Andersen. To top it all off, there is the famous mermaid statue, as well as the historic theme park that is still running today. All of this is found in a neatly compact city making it easy to get around with the little ones in tow.
Isle of Wight
Why do we have to travel when there is this beauty of a destination on our doorstep? The many sandy beaches offer up the perfect safe play area for the kids as you enjoy the fun of rock pooling or building sandcastles together. If you want some time away from the sea, the Isle of Wight also homes cliff-top gardens that feature princesses, cowboys, and pirates. A true child’s fantasy.
So much of this country is protected as areas of conservation. This is great if you’re looking for somewhere free of busy traffic or huge crowds of people. And you’ll be able to educate the little ones about the wonders of nature. I know my family would love a trip to this rainforest haven. There are plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife, as well as a variety of outdoor activities to keep everyone busy.
No longer do we have to worry about safety when we travel with all these great family destinations. Perhaps you have some of your own that suited your family perfectly? Be sure to let me know in the comments below!
