10 Things That Make Me Happy

I’ve been tagged by Mrs Mummy Harris for the 10 Things That Make Me Happy quiz, which is fab because this wonderful weather has me in a very positive mood right now.

So here are ten things that make me happy…

My Family

Cliche but true. They might be loud, messy, and crazy but my little family never fail to put a smile on my face when I get in from work. And all week I’m longing for the weekend when we can spend a couple of days together.

Summer

I don’t want to jinx it but how amazing is this weather! I should definitely have been born in a tropical country because (except for the red hair and pale skin) I hate the winter and am always cold. You’ll never hear me complaining about the heat, and I love the fact that we can be outside after work and school.

Holidays

Going hand in hand with the above, I live for holidays! It makes going to work worth it when you know that you get to go on holiday with some of your hard earned cash. Relaxing on a sunlounger by the pool is my idea of heaven. If I’m not counting down to a holiday then you can be sure I’m planning one.

Lie Ins

Granted they don’t happen very often once you become a parent, but if we don’t have plans on a weekend then my husband will get up at the crack of dawn with the child and let me sleep in. He’s a keeper!

Weekends

Basically, I’d be a much happier person if it was always the weekend! Having a lie in, spending time with my family, going out for the day, not being at work, the list goes on.

The Beach

We’re very lucky to live on the south coast in Poole, definitely one of the best areas of the UK. If you’ve seen my Instagram you’ll know we spend a lot of time down at the beach. We go for beach walks in the winter and playing on the beach in the summer. I could never live anywhere else – well not in this country anyway!

Reading

Another thing I don’t get to do much of anymore, but I’ve always been a book worm and try to read whenever I get a spare half an hour. Laying in bed with a book is the best way to unwind. I like most books (apart from trashy chick lit), especially stories set in other countries.

Boxsets

Like most mums I don’t get to go out much, though to be honest I don’t really want to anyway. There’s never anything on TV so I am slightly addicted to Netflix and Sky Boxsets! So far my faves are Greys Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, and New Girl. Feel free to leave any boxset recommendations in the comments.

Being Busy

I hate being bored. If I have nothing to do I’ll be fine for about half an hour but then start to go slightly crazy. Whether it’s work or home life I’m much happier when I’m busy and have plenty of things to do. Which probably explains why I spend my evenings blogging when I could be relaxing!

Shopping

It’s more often for Little H than for me, but there’s definitely something in a bit of retail therapy to improve your mood!

What would you put on your happy list?

I’m tagging: Jessica from A Modern Mom’s Life, Claire fromThe Frugal Family, Ashley from Hello Nature and Lexie from Mommy Home Manager.

I would have all of the above but then I would have to include food because I spend most of my days dreaming about what I am going to eat πŸ™‚ #KCACOLS

Sarah you sound very similar to me in terms of what makes you happy :0) my hubby lets me have a lie in and im Netflix and boxset obsessed too! although blogging has taken over a bit now haha! im the same with keeping busy and boredom. I find blogging kind of gives me a purpose outside of work and it’s helped with anxiety/stress/depression.
Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time.

Love me a box set, I missed Pretty Little Liars but it’s so expensive to buy! I loved watching The Crown and we don’t watch much tv now. Thank you for joining us #sharethejoy

I could have written this list. Perhaps with the exception of shopping which I no longer enjoy (especially with 2 children in tow!) I love sunshine, family, holidays and reading. Like you, I love the hot weather and have no problem with it all! Just reading this has put a smile on my face! Thanks for joining us at #KCACOLS, hope to see you again next time. x

Oh I agree with all of these! I would add baking though as i find it so relaxing and it’s a great way to switch off from everything and create something yummy. I am so addicted to boxsets , just watched ‘Glow’ on Netflix, would definitely recommend xx #blogcrush
