Our May Round-Up

Seriously, how is it June already?! Next month is the summer holidays! Madness. This year is flying by so quickly, probably because we’re so busy all the time.

May is always a busy month as it’s Little H’s birthday. This kid has managed to get her 6th birthday to stretch over 2 full weeks! I like her style.

Here’s a round-up of what we got up to in May…

Our May Round-Up

On the May Day Bank Holiday we went to Hengistbury Head for a walk as it was a lovely sunny day. Little H did a lot of scooting, we had an ice cream and admired the beach huts. Then on the way back we got caught in a torrential downpour, it was one of those times when you are so soaked through you can only laugh!

We went to Christchurch Food Festival for the first time. It was so busy but we had some great Thai food, listened to some music, Little H went on some fairground rides and we bumped into lots of friends.

For a school project, we had to grow some plants. This is something that I’m terrible at! We bought seeds, Little H planted them, and she even did a really good job of remembering to water them. We even managed to grow a few shoots in time to hand the project in!

A couple of months after we started it, we finally managed to finish the makeover of our spare room. We’re really pleased with the finished result and have used the room a lot more now it’s done.

Mid-May was Little H’s 6th birthday. I still can’t believe I have a 6 year old! For her party we went bowling the weekend before which was good fun and not too manic. On her actual birthday we went for a meal with the grandparents and of course opened lots of presents. The weekend after we hired a beach hut. The Saturday was awful weather but the Sunday was much better and the kids had a blast playing on the beach.

The weather has been nice for the last couple of weeks and we’ve been making the most of the weather after school. We’ve been to the park, and had fish & chips down the beach when the husband got in from work. I love summer!

Blogging can bring some great opportunities and we were lucky to be invited to the opening of a new dinosaur-themed adventure golf in Bournemouth. The weather wasn’t fantastic but we had great fun and were grateful to be among the first to check it out.

We’ve had another good month and I’m always pleased that we’ve managed to pack in so much fun!

Look forward to lots of sunny days out in June. Hope you had a great May.

Sarah
