Our October Round-Up

Back in June I started doing a monthly round-up of what our family gets up to – I can’t believe I’m already writing about what we did in October!

October has flown by, probably because we’ve had some busy weekends…

Our October Round-up

At the start of October we went on a day trip to London. We got on the train and visited The Natural History Museum, followed by a trip to Trafalgar Square and dinner on the South Bank. We had a really fun day out!

Little H has had a few events at school to dress up for. They had a Superhero Day where she went dressed as Supergirl; an Autumn Disco where I cut out some felt leaves and stuck them to an old tutu and fairy wings; and a Julia Donaldson day where she went dressed as the Rhyming Rabbit.

We have had a lot of birthday parties for Little H’s school friends in October – 3 in one weekend! It’s such an expense and takes over your weekends, but we don’t mind as it’s nice for Little H to see her friends outside of school. She even met Storm Troopers at one of the parties!

You can’t get through Autumn without going pumpkin picking. We’ve been to the same place 3 years in a row now and always have lots of fun. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a great afternoon. We also good fun carving the pumpkins.

Unfortunately half term was just a normal week for me as I had to work while Little H spent the time with all of her grandparents. During half term Little H managed to get her second gymnastics badge, and on Friday all 3 of us went for cake after work.

On Halloween weekend we went to Upton Country Park to their ‘Pumpkin Parade’ event. There was dressing up, face painting, dancing and Halloween crafts. Little H enjoyed herself, and we went for a nice autumn walk afterwards.

What did you get up to in October? I can’t believe we’re into November already.
